The Lifting Lives and Communities Initiative (LIFT), in collaboration with Activ8 Hub, continues to champion empowerment and digital inclusion for young girls in Anambra State through the impactful LIFT for Her Initiative. Between April 25th and June 19th, 2025, the program has recorded significant progress and we’re thrilled to share the journey so far.
As a leading innovation hub in Awka, Activ8 Hub provided the perfect environment for this transformation. The initiative kicked off with a rigorous assessment and selection process on April 25th and May 1st, involving 37 participants across Anambra State. With 20 girls attending the first session and 17 girls the second, each four hour session was packed with valuable insights, including discussions led by Mrs. Onyinye, a respected tech expert in Anambra State.
Following the assessments, a selection committee carefully reviewed results, using strict disqualification criteria. While a few participants were screened out due to age or test conduct, the majority demonstrated strong potential and were welcomed into the program.
The selected participants came to a three day masterclass from May 14th to 16th, hosted within Activ8’s Hub modern co-working space in Awka, a thriving hub where collaboration and creativity thrive. The sessions covered essential digital skills such as social media optimization, collaborative tools, portfolio creation, and effective personal branding on platforms like LinkedIn.
With their new skills in hand, the participants were officially onboarded into the No Code School on June 19th. Each girl selected a tech track aligned with her interest: from No Code Web Development to Social Media Management, Creative Design, and Web3. These sessions are held in one of the best workspaces in Awka, designed to foster focus, growth, and innovation.
As a fast growing digital hub in Awka, Activ8 Hub is more than just a training ground, it’s a launchpad for young talent. The LIFT for Her Initiative exemplifies the power of accessible opportunities and supportive mentorship. Currently in their fourth week, these girls are actively learning, building, and dreaming bigger than ever before.
